Helvick Gold Blonde Ale (500ml, ABV 4.9%) This is a refreshing blonde ale generously hopped to give bitterness and aroma that packs a punch! This blonde ale is not a bland ale, there is a complexity at play here with a fruity aroma balanced by a hoppiness that makes it a slightly challenging but stilll quite easy to drink beer.Helvick is a great summer's day drink, perfect for cracking out at the barbeque. Enjoy at cellar temperature (8-14°C) or cooler for a great warm weather thirst quencher. It's an excellent beer to pair with food and works particularly well with spicy food. The beer contains a vitamin-rich yeast sediment in the bottle which is a by-product of the natural carbonation that occurs in the bottle. To pour a clear pint, pour out in one go and leave the last drop in the bottle. However, this is purely for aesthetic reasons and the sediment is absolutely fine to drink.
Copper Coast Red Ale (500ml, ABV 4.3%) Named for the famed geopark along the scenic coastline that runs between Dungarvan and Tramore, our red ale lives up to its name by pouring an intense copper colour in the glass. This is a smooth, fruity ale with a definite caramal character created by the use of crystal malt in the brewing process but with an added hop balance that is not always present in red ales, and which balances the sweetness of the caramel flavours. This is a beer that works well with most meat dishes but in particular roast meats as the caramels of both the beer and the meat complement each other fantastically.Suggested serving temperature is 'cellar temperature' which would be about 8-14°C but this comes down to personal choice - if you prefer it cooler or warmer then go for it!The bottle will contain a yeast sediment which is a by-product of the bottle conditioning process. This sediment is completely harmless and fine to drink, but if you prefer a clearer beer then leave the last drop in the bottle.
Black Rock Stout (500ml, ABV 4.3%) The "Black Rock" is a landmark for mariners at the outermost part of Dungarvan harbour, situated just between the Copper Coast and Helvick head. This is a full flavoured, smooth, dry stout that has been described on more than one ocassion as "the way stout used to taste". Made from roasted barley which gives a rich, chocolatey flavour with herbal hints and notes of vanilla and aniseed. This is a medium-bodied stout with a light carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel.Ideally this stout should be served in the traditional south eastern way which is 'off the shelf' - i.e. at room temperature. It is the perfect beer to serve with robust meat dishes, or could be used as a 'dessert beer'.
